Yesterday was cookie day!

Tuesday was pear cake and cheesecake baking day.  Yesterday was cookies.  She works so hard at this, it is just so much fun to watch her being so serious about her baking.  Today is library program day.  Hopefully we can get out of baking again!

The Grandsons

Dustin and Carlos are outnumbered in the family; two grandsons vs five granddaughters!  When they are together, they usually spend their time in the floor of Dustin's room playing video games.  They are visiting this week on Carlos' first week out of school and before Dustin goes back to college to take a business class this summer.

Samantha has been a busy girl today.  She has made a batch of pear nut cakes and help me make a cheesecake.  She is a very good cook and baker.  Knows how to make the cakes by herself!

DFW National Cemetery

This is our Congressman who has been so helpful to us with VA issues.  He is at the DFW National Cemetery's Memorial Day Tribute.  This is where Steve wants to be buried when his time comes.

Christy's Dogs

I absolutely hate dogs - always have, always will.  All my kids love them and have them, in the house!  This is a picture of Christy's.  Big ole Bear and little aggravating Daisy.  Would you believe that Bear barks and growls at everybody.  I don't even go to Christy's because of the dogs.  Went one day and she shut Bear in the bedroom away from me.  He wanted out so she told me she would let him out and for me to wait in the kitchen.  Said if he saw me he would bark and growl but not to worry, he didn't like strangers.  So I'm in the kitchen and they head for the back door.  He spies me, runs up to me and slaps a big ole paw on each shoulder then starts licking my face!  I'm yelling, "Get him off of me!!!!!"  He's about to lick the skin off my face, and Christy is laughing so hard she can't even get him to move.  Can't you just picture this scene?

Watermelon at GHS Choir Banquet

Cindy was in charge of the GHS choir banquet this year. She was very pleased with the caterers. This watermelon is one of the reasons why. Just had to share this, had never seen anything quite like it.

Lindsay's Top 10 GPA Award

This afternoon I went to Lindsay's 7th grade honor day.  She won a Top 10 GPA award.  This year they had to give 11 awards since they had a tie!  Lindsay won last year, too.  Her goal is to win again next year when they actually announce where in the top ten you rank.  Since there are hundreds in her class, the class took up the bleachers and we were confined to the balcony.  I am a poor photographer anytime and especially from that distance but at least I got a couple of pictures!
