ANOTHER BUSY NIGHT FOR THE AGENTS OF THE TRUTH ACADEMY

One of the dreaded parts of agent training is the obstacle course and last night was the night to complete that part of the training. I heard a lot of laughter instead of moaning and groaning! The course was a lot of fun.

Getting instructions from team leaders for running the obstacle course. Agent Wilson was designated the starter.

Getting ready to go....

Starting the course...

Followed by her friend Kyleigh.

A little wobbly here....

Kyleigh's got it.

Oh no! Gotta tackle the laser alley!

Going first is trial and error...

Almost there...

Victory in sight!

Here comes Kyleigh.

Wow, we made it. Obstacle course complete!

FUN DAY WITH FAMILY AND FRIEND

Yesterday I went to Painting With a Twist in Grapevine for a couple hours of fun. I have no artistic ability, can't even draw a stick man, but I thought a couple hours out with family and friends would be fun. We were joined by our friend Traci and we all had a great time. I had one of the worst paintings there but it was fun. I need to take Samantha and Steffinee sometime as I know they would love it.

Smiling before we attempted to paint.

Hard at work.

Myself, Lauren, Lindsay, Traci

My finished product. I sat next to Lauren but none of her talent rubbed off on me!

GOODBYE TO FLORENCE

We lost a dear friend last evening. I always called Florence Childers my 'other mother' because I spent so much time at her house when I was young. Since I have lived in Texas we communicated over the years with cards, letters, and phone calls. Whenever I would be in Indiana I would go to her house for a meal. She always made my favorite - goulash! She usually made me an oatmeal cake, another favorite, too. My kids and grandkids knew that if we went to Indiana there would be a trip to Florence's house, that would be a given. My heart breaks for her five children as I know what it is to lose your mother. Here husband died when her children were ages 11 to 3 months old. Not only did she do a great job raising them to be great citizens and Christians, she always allowed others of us to tag along. We will miss you, Florence, but we know you have gone to a place of peace and joy.

August 1991

I used this picture today for my Throw Back Thursday facebook picture. Other than being with her great-grandchildren I don't think there was anything my mom enjoyed more than travel. She could be packed and ready to go on a moments notice. Here she is enjoying Dollywood with family friends Deanna Sicking (now Cook), her neice Beverly Sutton and Deanna's mom Mary. The Sicking family took her on several trips and she so enjoyed everyone. Even after she was disabled by her stroke she still loved to travel. Christy, Dustin, and I flew her down to Houston to visit NASA, Moody Gardens, etc. She enjoyed herself so much. We got a motel close by the Johnson Space Center so we could take her back to rest when she tired. The joke was on us, she didn't really tire and had no desire to go rest. We sure do miss her.

JULY 2000

Since Lindsay is the birthday girl this month she is the lucky one with the old pictures! Yes, I am even willing to post this horrible picture of me all bloated up before some colon surgery just to put this cute picture of her on here. We were at DFW Airport at the overlook park watching the planes come in. She was quite fascinated to see the planes up close. Love this girl and can't believe she is a few days from being 16.

What a Team!

Came across this picture this evening and had to smile. This is me with my cohorts Terry Dellis and Michael DeGroot. We were a buying team in the JCPenney corporate office in the 1980s, early 90s. I'm sure the men's pants and shorts selections at JCP were never better than when we were in charge!!

Early Birthday Lunch

Thank you to Cindy and Traci for my early birthday lunch. They took me to a diner in Dallas today for lunch and I enjoyed it very much. I turned down the fancy places for some good old-fashion home-style food. Love you, girls!

11-25-1990

Hard to believe this was 23-years-ago this week!  Good friends David and Mary Sicking came down and brought my mom to stay in Texas for the winter.  We had such fun that week while David and Mary were here. This picture was taken down on the water canal in Las Colinas.  One of the fun things we did that day was to ride a water taxi with Santa.  Mary, I am still looking for that picture!  Sure do miss my mom, especially at the holidays.  But so thankful for all the good memories.

Hannah and Lauren have been friends all the way through school.  Now they will be roommates at Baylor University.  Love Hannah's beautiful smile.  She is a special girl!
