Fourth Grade Field Trip

Samantha and Mary today at Heritage Village, Old City Park in Dallas. This was Samantha's 4th grade field trip. It is a great place for kids and they had good weather today. Back in my younger, healthier days I took my children's Sunday School class there every year. Always great fun.

July 4 Lake Grapevine Camping

Chad's family enjoyed their annual campout and the fireworks on Lake Grapevine. This year they were joined by some of Mary's family. Here are Steffinee, Samantha, Mary, Mary's nephew Jameson, Isabell and Jameson's older brother Junior.

Our gal Samantha does her own thing. She skipped the kids class at church tonight to go into the adult group that had an old-fashion singing and homemade ice cream! Samantha loves music and singing (and ice cream, too)!  I posted this picture for her to see herself some years in the future, the only child in the room and the only one in a hat! Love you Samantha (and a little proud that you aren't afraid to let your individuality show)!

State Guard Prayer Breakfast

I was honored to be Chad and Mary's guest this morning at the 5th Annual Military Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the Texas State Guard and hosted by Dallas Baptist University. What an uplifting time of prayer and patriotism! If you are ever invited, make it a point to go!

Samantha's Photo Booth

Samantha made a Frosty mask and a Santa mask this year at the Bass Pro Shop.  She took them to Cindy's today and used the Christmas tree as a photo booth.  Here are some of the fun pictures. She was quite the fashion plate today! She insisted on wearing her holiday pjs all day with her new Hello Kitty necklace and charm braclet!  I think she will be a fashion mogul one day!

Since tomorrow is Mary's birthday and Samantha's is 10 days later, today's picture features the two of them at the June bake sale where Samantha baked goodies and sold them to pay her way to kids camp.  Talking to a customer and Aunt Cindy is in the picture, too.

October Birthdays

As you know by now Samantha is our birthday girl for the month.  However we do have few other October birthdays, too.  Mary, Samantha's mother, has a birthday on the 12th and a couple of our "other girls", Sarah Campbell and Traci Cory each have a birthday this month.  Traci's is on the 20th and Sarah's is on the 28th. So to Samantha, Mary, Traci and Sarah (as well as all of you who have birthdays this month) have a great birthday month!

Mother's Day Craft

A family friend gave Samantha some crafts to make for Mary for Mother's Day.  Here she is with her mother and the teapot picture holder.  Now we have to get a copy of the picture to put inside the holder.  She was so proud of this.

Since this is Thanksgiving week I would like to start it by saying I am thankful for my children and grandchildren.  Love you Cindy, Rodney, Christy, Bruce, Chad and Mary.  Also love you Dustin, Lauren, Lindsay, Steffinee, Carlos, Isabell, and Samantha.

Mary loves to do needlepoint.  Samantha was so proud of the birthday gift she gave her mommy.  She picked out this needlepoint book and paid for it herself for her mommy's birthday.
