THE HARTS WITH GRANDPA THORNBURG

Lauren and Lindsay lost their Great-Grandpa Thornburg this morning, the day after his 90th birthday. They spent time with him in Tulsa last weekend for a big birthday celebration. I am so thankful they had that time with him and got these good pictures. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.

Aha, Cindy, you just thought you were escaping the birthday pictures! So I have been sofa bound from surgery but I have managed an escape long enough to get a picture of you out there in cyber world.

Twenty-two years ago this evening in a pretty little chapel at the DFW Airport, we became in-laws for the first time when our oldest daughter Cindy married Rodney Hart. Since that time they have blessed us with two beautiful granddaughters. Happy Anniversary and best wishes for many more. We love you!

Cindy surprised me yesterday by planting me a new flower garden. She said it is my Mother's Day gift. I think it looks very nice. Thank you to Cindy, Rodney, Lauren, and Lindsay!

Lots of Family Birthdays in March

Maybe it's because I'm getting older but to me it seems like this year has been flying by and we are already to March! I say that with an apology to my Hoosier family and friends who no doubt feel like January and February went on forever since you have been having such bad weather. March is a busy birthday month for the Wilson family. Our son-in-law Rodney Hart, granddaughter Isabell, and Chad all have birthdays this month. Both my late grandmothers had March birthdays and I always think of them often during March. My aunt Sue and my cousin Beverly also celebrate birthdays in March. I'm sure I must be leaving someone out and if so, I apologize.

Rodney has the first birthday this month so I will start the birthday pictures with him (I know he will be thrilled). This is one of the earliest pictures I have of him. This was taken on Cindy's birthday in 1991 when they were dating. I wish I could remember what was in that present that caused such a reaction!

Looks like Lauren was having an unhappy moment during Christmas at Grandma's house in 1999!  Must not have been a big deal as I don't remember her being unhappy that evening.

Busy Homecoming Weekend For The Harts

Last night was Lindsay's night with GHS Homecoming.  Tonight is Lauren's for Baylor University Homecoming.  And both are celebrations for Cindy since both are her former schools!  Rodney, Cindy, and Lindsay are all in Waco celebrating with Lauren.  Have fun guys!

New Birthday Girl

Tomorrow starts a new month and therefore a new birthday girl.  October's birthday girl is Samantha Jewel Wilson who will have to share a few days with her mommy Mary who also has an October birthday.  But to finish off September, here is another picture of Lindsay.  In this picture she is in her daddy's arms in the Smoky Mountains when she was 2.  It has been a pleasure looking back and choosing pictures to use this past month.  Love you Ladybug!

Now that the big day has arrived, my fun for the month must come to an end.  I have enjoyed digging out and sharing all those old pictures of Cindy from birth to present but she is probably glad her birthday is here and mom will lay off her for awhile!  I have always told her she is very special because she was the one who gave me the title of Mommy which has changed through the years to Mom.  She also gave me my first granddaughter (I already had a grandson).  Cindy, you make your parents proud!  Love and Happy Birthday!

Say a Prayer for Rodney's Family Today

Remember our son-in-law Rodney and his family today as they bury his maternal grandma.  His grandparents were married for 67 years and his grandpa had been taking very good care of his grandma the past several months.  Today will be a tough day for him as well as all the family.  Granddaughters Lauren and Lindsay will be burying their last great-grandma today so say a prayer for them, too.
