Carlos' 13th Birthday Celebration

Carlos' birthday was Thursday but we celebrated last night at - his choice - Golden Corral.  Mary and Chad did a great job making him a football field cake with little Teddy Graham bears dressed in his team's colors.  One would never guess he is a football player and fan!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER BECKY!  Here is a picture of us when I was 7 and she was 4.  We used to dress alike most of the time.

Becky Is About to Have a Birthday!

My sister Becky Sue Sowders Hargis is about to have a birthday!  This is a picture of her taken in 1954 when she was 4 years old.  Her birthday will be this Friday.  I haven't spent a birthday with her since 1982 but I always think of her especially in April.  Love you Becky.

Bluebonnets

So ready to see fields of bluebonnets.  They are starting to appear but I am ready to see fields of them like these from the past.  There is nothing any prettier than fields of Texas Bluebonnets!

Steve Lookin' Good

One of the things that seems a little strange about Steve's dementia is his desire to get all dressed up from time to time.  Most of the time he couldn't care less about his appearance anymore.  One of the things about dementia is a tendency to go back to things from early in life.  Evidently this is the case for him and Easter.  He must remember wearing little Easter suits as a boy. He started telling me on Friday what he planned to wear to church Easter Sunday.  And sure enough, two hours before time to leave for church he was all dressed up in suit and tie.  He really does look good when he gets all dressed up so I took a picture for his family and friends out of state to see him all dressed up and looking good.
