Thank you to my friends Chris and Brenda Arnett for bringing me this lovely bouquet of flowers. Imagine my surprise when they came up to me at church and surprised me with this special surprise. Love you guys!

Samantha at Wednesday Night Service

Our gal Samantha does her own thing. She skipped the kids class at church tonight to go into the adult group that had an old-fashion singing and homemade ice cream! Samantha loves music and singing (and ice cream, too)!  I posted this picture for her to see herself some years in the future, the only child in the room and the only one in a hat! Love you Samantha (and a little proud that you aren't afraid to let your individuality show)!

CAMP IS OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Samantha called me this afternoon to tell me her mommy and daddy had just picked her up at the church and that she had enjoyed camp. I told her I had been posting the pictures on this blog for her to have her camp memories forever. She like that idea. Friday was another hot day in the 90s which made these water games even more fun. Samantha is a very enterprising young lady and works to help pay her way to camp every year. Last year she had a bake sale that paid her way and part of Isabell's. This year she sold baked goods to family and friends and paid over half of her fees. Grandma is proud of you Samantha!

Four Kids Scattered!

I'm sure Chad and Mary think they are on vacation! Steffinee is in Oklahoma, Carlos is at my house with Dustin, Isabell is in Alabama at Mary's brother's, and Samantha is at church camp. Who needs to go on a vacation when you can have a whole house to yourselves!

Samantha Has Arrived at Camp

Samantha was so excited this morning to be heading to church camp. I pray she has lots of fun and a real spiritual experience.

Happy Father's Day in Heaven Dad!

Even though I lost my dad 25-years-ago I still miss him. I have thought about him a lot today as it is the Army's birthday and he was in the Army Air Corp during WWII. It is flag day and he was a very patriotic person. But most of all tomorrow is Father's Day. I am sad that I can't celebrate the day with him. Losing one's dad is a loss that always stays with a child, no matter their age.

This is the last picture taken of my dad. He was celebrating a friend's birthday in March before he died on April 9.

Prayer Time in Kid's City

So thankful our children are taught how to seek God at an early age. Samantha is on the end in the blue floral dress. I stopped by there today during prayer time and it was such a reverent atmosphere. Thank you to all our children's church workers.

What a Team!

Came across this picture this evening and had to smile. This is me with my cohorts Terry Dellis and Michael DeGroot. We were a buying team in the JCPenney corporate office in the 1980s, early 90s. I'm sure the men's pants and shorts selections at JCP were never better than when we were in charge!!
