Tucker and His Dog Sitters

Dustin absolutely loves it when the Harts go out of town and he gets to keep Tucker.  Lauren and Lindsay know they don't have to worry about him with Dustin and Samantha to keep him company.  Cindy had said she would bring him over about 2:00 yesterday afternoon.  At 2:02 Samantha said, "Grandma it's 2:02 and they aren't here yet!"  Thankfully they were here just a few minutes later.

When Aunt Cindy dropped off Tucker for Dustin to dogsit while they are in Georgia and Florida, what a surprise; she brought Samantha a moose!

Lauren

Please say a pray for Lauren.  She saw the gastroenterologist yesterday and is now on acid reflux meds.  She is scheduled for an endoscopy in a few weeks.  I so don't want to think she has inherited my problems!!  When they told the doctor she is my granddaughter, he said, "Oh, let's don't go there!"  Sorry Lauren!!  Lauren is in the pink shirt below.

FATHER'S DAY CARD

This is the card Cindy gave her dad for Father's Day!  She said Lindsay was with her when she bought it and couldn't believe she bought it.  She asked her mother, "Are you really going to buy that?"

Snake Presentation

No pictures on this one!  Took Samantha to the library today for the snake presentation.  But Grandma doesn't deal with snakes so we weren't able to get pictures.  Sorry Samantha but Grandma just couldn't bring herself to go in the room with all those snakes.  Samantha was very proud that she got to touch a python. Yee Haw! 

Then the crazy snake man brought the python out in the main part of the library for moms and grandmas to touch saying, "Come on ladies.  Touch an expensive purse."  We left!!!

Happy to Have Lauren Back Home

Grandma is so happy to have Lauren back home after she was sick all week in Colorado.  Thanks again to all who remembered her in your prayers.  Oh what would we do without prayer.  What a peace to know when we aren't able to do anything in situations like this, we can trust in God!

Lauren Update

Thanks for the prayers for Lauren.  She is feeling better today but still having to take it easy.  Made it to a Bible study yesterday.  Not sure what she has been able to do today.

A friend told me about a restaurant dessert she enjoys but wanted to know if I could make it without all the sugar and reduce the fat.  This is what Samantha and I came up with.  Pretty tasty, if we do say so!  Melissa, you will get yours this evening!

Haircuts

Took Samantha and Dustin for haircuts today.  Both got new styles - cooler for summer.

SO PROUD OF LAUREN & LINDSAY

Grandma and Papaw are so proud of Cindy's girls.  Lindsay finished 7th grade in the top ten in her class of approximately 300 or so.  Lauren just got her ranking and she finished her Junior year of high school ranked #12 in her class of 511.  She has already been accepted to Baylor University and has an official visit scheduled for next month.  Way to go, girls!

This is a picture taken in November several years ago.  Myself, Mom, and good friend Mary Sicking in Las Colinas when David and Mary brought mom down to spend the winter here in Texas.  We were in Las Colinas to take a boat ride with Santa.  Mom enjoyed that so much; great memories.

Today would be my mom's 87th birthday.  This is a picture of us doing one of our most enjoyable things - enjoying a good restaurant meal. Sure do miss her!

I am thinking of my mother this week since her birthday is coming up.  We miss her so much.  She loved being in Texas and she loved spending time with Dustin, Lauren, Lindsay, and Steffinee, her great-grandchildren.  This morning I came across this picture of her and Dustin so I thought I would post it.  This was taken on the old steam train coming back to Grapevine after a busy day in Ft. Worth.

Grandma's Bakers

Lindsay has been in school this week so she hasn't been over to bake with Samantha.  But Samantha wants everyone to know that she and Lindsay are grandma's bakers.  Here is a picture of them from a few months ago.

Samantha & Mrs. Franco

This is a picture of Samantha celebrating her 6th birthday when she was in Mrs. Franco's kindergarten class.  On the last day of school this year, Mrs. Franco told Samantha she will be teaching 2nd grade next year.  She hugged Samantha and told her she has requested Samantha be in her room next year.  Samantha is thrilled as she loves Mrs. Franco.  I hope that works out!
