Toddler Steffinee in the Pumpkin Patch

Steffinee was visiting one year while her mommy was in California for training and her daddy was at Ft. Knox.  She was so cute when we took her to the pumpkin patch.  She saw all those pumpkin and just took off running through them. So many good memories of fun times with the grandkids.

As we head out of October and into November I am leaving my last two birthday girls, Lindsay in September and Samantha in October and looking for Dustin pictures (his birthday is in November).  But I just have to share this picture of Lindsay and Samantha since it is one of my very favorite pictures.  This was taken a few years ago now but it so captures the essence of who they are to grandma.  I call this my picture of my very own Betty Crocker and Hamburger Helper.

The First Four

Thinking about pictures and digging out some of Dustin in preparation of his birthday month coming up. Came across this picture that I just love.  This is the first four grandchildren.  I love this picture because they all have on their Camp Grandma shirts.  Dustin had a fear of fire ants (he had experienced severe fire ant bites) and wouldn't get too close to the tree, big girl Lauren is all smiles, Lindsay is pouting and won't look up, and Steffinee is just thrilled to be in Texas enjoying time with her cousins. And the Texas breeze has the girls hair a mess.  Real memories captured here!

Samantha's Birthday Surprise

Samantha loved it when the waiters/waitresses gathered around to sing Happy Birthday to her.  But she was most excited when the waitress came carrying her cake from the back.  Mary had brought her dad a gift of brownies since that is what he loves.  When Samantha didn't see a cake, she didn't think she was getting one. She was trying hard not to let anyone think her feelings were hurt about that.  When she saw this cake, she was thrilled.

Samantha complained that last year we didn't do her birthday up very nice, we just went to Golden Corral! So this year Chad and Mary went to Chili's, got a big table, decorated it with a purple (her current favorite color) tablecloth, sparkly confetti, happy birthday plates and napkins, and these flowers from her daddy. She was so excited about it all I wanted a picture of her with her flowers.

Samantha's Dinner For Her 9th Birthday

Since Samantha went to Carlos' football game on her birthday we had a dinner with her tonight at Chili's. She loved her ice cream birthday cake from Dairy Queen.  It was a Reese's Peanut Butter Blizzard Cake.  I don't care for ice cream cakes but it was pretty good and she thought it was wonderful!  I recommend them for ice cream cakes!

Lindsay and Her Homecoming Date

Our beautiful granddaughter Lindsay and her homecoming date last Friday night. She had a busy evening.  She was finally back playing volleyball after being out with a concussion.  Rushed from volleyball to change into band uniform and play in the band at the game.  Finally into her comfy jeans and sweater to have dinner with a group of friends at Red Robin.  She is a very busy girl!  Love you Ladybug!

Samantha went to her brother's football game last night in lieu of a birthday celebration.  Here they are after the game.  His team won 35-0!

Samantha and Tucker

One more day until our baby girl turns 9-years-old.  This weekend she stayed at our house while her parents had guards.  Tucker stayed with Dustin this weekend while the Harts were in Waco.  Tucker and Samantha got in a little lovin' time.

Great Homecoming Weekend

So happy for Cindy's girls who both had great homecoming weekends at their schools.  Both Grapevine High School and Baylor University won their homecoming football games!  Yeah Mustangs! Yeah Bears!

Busy Homecoming Weekend For The Harts

Last night was Lindsay's night with GHS Homecoming.  Tonight is Lauren's for Baylor University Homecoming.  And both are celebrations for Cindy since both are her former schools!  Rodney, Cindy, and Lindsay are all in Waco celebrating with Lauren.  Have fun guys!

GHS Homecoming Parade

Samantha and Tucker

Samantha and Tucker (Aunt Cindy's family's dog) are good buddies.  She loves taking Tucker for walks when the Harts are gone and Tucker is staying with Dustin at Grandma's house.  This was about a year and a half ago while the Harts were in Spain.

Sports Update

Lindsay and the Lady Mustangs are still rolling along undefeated as they won again last night.  Lindsay got her release from her doctor this week so she should be back in action in the next week or two after UIL clearance and release by the trainers.

Carlos and the Harwood Jr High Blackhawks lost their first game last night.  I'm sure that was heartbreaking after playing their hearts out in the rain.  But hey, there is always next week!

Hard to believe our baby girl will be 9-years-old a week from today.  Here she is at CiCi's Pizza when she was 6 months old.  My how time flies!

Mary's Birthday

Mary and her family celebrating her birthday yesterday.  Samantha made the cakes and did the decorating.  She was quite the party planner.

Since tomorrow is Mary's birthday and Samantha's is 10 days later, today's picture features the two of them at the June bake sale where Samantha baked goodies and sold them to pay her way to kids camp.  Talking to a customer and Aunt Cindy is in the picture, too.

Samantha at Seniors Luncheon

Samantha, this month's birthday girl, loves to go to the Seniors Luncheon at church with grandma.  Our seniors group has a pitch-in lunch the first Saturday of every month.  Everyone who has a birthday during the current month gets to go through the line first.  Samantha loved it that she got to be first in line. She loves it when she can spend Friday night with us and go to the lunch on Saturday.  Our church photographer was there this past Saturday taking pictures as it was crazy hat day.  Samantha enjoyed every minute of it.

Harwood Jr High 8th Grade Team Still Undefeated

Another great game for Carlos' 8th grade football team.  Last night they won 27-8 to keep their undefeated season intact.  Way to go Harwood Junior High!

Samantha Loves Reading the Bible

Here is this month's birthday girl reading her Bible last January.  Chad and Mary were at guards for the weekend and Samantha was here with us.  Steve wasn't feeling well and the weather was stormy so we had to miss church.  Samantha got her Bible and devotional book, climbed up on her bed and read for a long time.  I am so thankful she loves the Lord and doesn't want to miss church.  I hope she will always be this dedicated to her Bible reading and study.

Undefeated Mustangs Keep Rolling Along

Another great night for the GHS Lady Mustangs Volleyball team.  They had a little more competition last night but they pulled out the win without going to the third game!  I'm losing track but I think they are 16-0. Way to go girls!

October Birthdays

As you know by now Samantha is our birthday girl for the month.  However we do have few other October birthdays, too.  Mary, Samantha's mother, has a birthday on the 12th and a couple of our "other girls", Sarah Campbell and Traci Cory each have a birthday this month.  Traci's is on the 20th and Sarah's is on the 28th. So to Samantha, Mary, Traci and Sarah (as well as all of you who have birthdays this month) have a great birthday month!

So much fun this month to dig out pictures of our October Birthday Girl Samantha.  This has always been one of my favorites of her.  This was taken the summer when she was one-year-old.  Hard to believe the baby in our family will turn 9 later this month.  She has such a sweet personality that she has been a real joy to our whole family these last 8 years.

Way to go Carlos and the Harwood Junior High football team.  Still undefeated with a 22-0 win tonight. Way to go guys!
