Samantha is one excited 8-year-old!  She is spending the night at Cindy's and going to Baylor tomorrow to see Lauren and attend her first college football game.  She is excited to visit the bear pit, see the campus, and go to the game.  But she is most excited that she will get to see Lauren and her "dome".  I was a bit confused as I thought Lauren was living in a "dorm"!  Anxious to see Samantha Sunday and hear all about it!  Thanks to cousin Lindsay for choosing to take Samantha this weekend!

DUSTIN & LAUREN OUR COLLEGE KIDS

Dustin and Lauren will soon be finished with their first week of college this year.  Lauren's first year - Baylor University and Dustin's third year - Tarrant County College.  Saw in the TCC Collegian yesterday that TCC has over 50,000 students.  I didn't realize it was that big.  I have no idea how many students Baylor has.
This picture was taken a little over a week ago.  They are great kids and we are so proud of them.

Another picture of Lindsay before last night's game.  Love to watch her play!  And we got our "Grapevine Old Folks Pass" as Steve calls it so we get in free!  That makes it even better.

Tonight is Volleyball

Papaw is really looking forward to this evening and going to Lindsay's GHS Volleyball game.  So glad her home games are just across the street so he can attend them.  He looks forward to each game and that is really good for him.  Last week the school secretary told us to go to the administration building and get a gold pass so we can get in free.  That is definitely on his schedule for today.  Love seeing him get so excited about something.  Go Mustangs!

1st Day of School

My goodness I must be getting old!  Today is the first day of school here.  We now have 2 grandchildren in college, 2 in high school, 1 in junior high, and 2 in elementary school.  Can't believe it but our oldest is in his 3rd year of college and the youngest is starting 3rd grade. So proud of them all and wish each of them and blessed year of learning.

I have no idea what this picture means, "The full quack pack", but I expect this week will be time for more than fun on the BU campus!

Samantha's Drawing for Lauren

Samantha wanted to give Lauren something special to take to Baylor with her.  She made a drawing of "Lauren's" house with her bedroom window to remind her of home.  She explained that she took the liberty of changing the color of the door to purple "since that is Lauren's favorite color".  Samantha, here is proof that your drawing made it to Baylor!

Kissed by a Bear!

So Lauren, how does it feel to be kissed by a bear?  I'm so not into sports, especially football so I'm not really sure what this means but Lauren is part of the Baylor Line.  Here she is with the mascot, I assume.

GHS Volleyball Team 2013-14

Lauren Moving In!

Lauren moving into her dorm at Baylor University.  We are so excited for her as she starts this new chapter in her life.  A Neuro-Science/Psychology major!  She is probably trying to figure out her grandparents!  Lots of luck girl!!

COLLEGE DAY!

Off to TCC today to renew Dustin's parking pass and get his books.  Now there goes some money!  He will start his 3rd year of college on Monday.  Lauren moving in at Baylor University today and Dustin buying books.  This is college day for our family!

The 3 Oldest and the Youngest

Last night we went to dinner with Lauren before she heads off to Baylor University this Thursday.  Cindy took this picture of our three oldest grandchildren with the youngest.  Dustin is 20, Lindsay is 14, Samantha is 8, and Lauren is 18.  Next week Dustin starts his 3rd year of college and Lauren starts her first.  Lindsay will start her first year of high school.  Even our baby girl will be in 3rd grade.  My, my, time flies when you're having fun!

Went by last Friday to give Sarah a hug before she left Saturday for the University of Arkansas.  She moved into her dorm yesterday.  Our girls are growing up soooo fast!  Praying God will bless her this year and she will be a witness for Him on campus.

Today we took Dustin, Carlos, and Samantha to the NASA exhibit in Downtown Grapevine.  There are over 100 items from NASA on display with activities for the kids.

Where Does the Time Go?

I can hardly believe it.  These two will both be in college this month.  Dustin back to TCC and Lauren to Baylor University.  How did the past twelve years, since this picture was taken, go by so fast?  They were 9 and 6 in this picture.

SO PROUD!

So proud of Lindsay.  She played her first official Grapevine High School Volleyball game tonight and served 12-0 in one of the games.  They won the match.  Yeah, Way to go, Lindsay!!
