TWO OF MY DAD'S SISTERS

My dad's two oldest sisters at the family dinner last night. Love my Aunts Thelma Prince and Oweedah 'Sissy' Butcher. They don't look like ladies in their 80s and 90s! Wish I could have been there.

ORIGINAL MCDONALD'S RESTAURANT

A little history for the grandkids. This is what the original McDonald's looked like. This one was built in Downey, California in 1958 and is still operating like this today. You had to walk up to one of the front windows to place your order. We didn't even have one in Bedford but sometimes after church on Sunday morning dad would drive up to Bloomington so we could eat at the one there. Aunt Becky and I loved to go there. On our wedding day Papaw and I got dinner there and took it to the Holiday Inn across the street where we were spending the night. Now how was that for a fancy honeymoon? We left a few days later for Clovis, New Mexico.

This picture from an antique shop in my childhood hometown caught my attention. On Cherry Street was one of my favorite readers in elementary school.

LOVE THIS 1817 GRIST MILL AT SPRING MILL STATE PARK

Great state park in my home county in Indiana. We used to go here almost every October to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. Such a beautiful place in the Fall. And I loved buying the stone ground cornmeal in this mill.
Cindy Hart do you remember having a birthday party and weiner roast at Spring Mill?

LINDSAY AT DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER

Lindsay has a 3-day volleyball tournament locally this weekend. She had 3 matches tonight and plays again tomorrow and Sunday at the Dallas Convention Center. They have 119 courts in this tournament. Had a big win tonight. Good luck the next two days, Lindsay.

SATURDAY NIGHT AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Samantha loves NASCAR and wants to be at every major race that comes to TMS. Saturday night was the Duck Dynasty 500 and she was there. She gets this love of NASCAR from her daddy and Aunt Christy. Here's her selfies from Saturday night. She has on her Danica Patrick cap and shirt. She met Danica and was excited about that!.

WE MISS YOU DAD

This date in 1989 was one of the worst days of my life. I received the dreaded early morning phone call around 3 am. As soon as I heard my mom and my sister on the other end I knew it was bad news. We had just lost my dad and life has never been quite the same since. I am so thankful I had him for almost 42 years.

A SCOOTER FALL

And this is the result of Samantha falling off her scooter Sunday. Maybe a compression fracture, maybe a jammed radius. Waiting for radiologist report but Samantha still has that smile that defines her. Prayers for quick healing, Samantha.

GOOD LUCK LINDSAY IN KANSAS CITY

Our traveling volleyball player flew to Kansas City this afternoon for a full weekend tournament. She and Cindy flew out after school today. We want to wish her good luck at this tournament as she has been sick this week and had just completed her state testing at school. Good luck Lindsay. You go girl!
