Where Does The Time Go?

I just can't hardly believe these three special girls started school today as left to right - a High School Sophomore, a Fourth Grader, and a College Sophomore. They grow up so fast.

I Just Can't Believe It!

How can it be that Lauren is settled into her apartment in Waco ready to begin her second year at Baylor University? She starts classes Monday, the same as GHS, Wilshire Elementary, and Harwood Jr. High. Steffinee has already started in Oklahoma. My grandchildren are growing up too fast. I must be getting old; surely not! Wishing all my grandchildren a great school year.

I know Lauren and Cindy are looking forward to some great football games this year in Baylor's new stadium. Sic 'em, Bears!

AT JFK'S GRAVE

My kids and grandkids are going to love this one. A high school classmate posted this picture of your Uncle Ronnie Ritter, your dad/papaw and me standing at John F Kennedy's grave. We were on our Senior Trip in 1965. Yes, we were young once - a long time ago!

Mom, Becky, and Beverly

Came across this picture today and it made me smile. Love Moms' smile in this picture, she looks so happy. This was taken several years ago at a Hawkins Family Reunion. I sure do miss my mom!

This is a picture of Carlos working in Children's church this morning. He is a Kid's City worker every other Sunday. He is shown here with Pastor John and little Gracie as she prayed over the offering. Samantha is in the first chair on the first row - right side.

1st 2014-15 GHS VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Today was Lindsay's 1st tournament on the GHS JV Volleyball team. Since I am still having swelling in the ankle we only went to the last game but enjoyed it very much. Her team won the game we watched. She said they won 5 of 6 today in pool play. Not sure yet if her team came in 1st or 2nd overall today. Anxious for the actual tournament play tomorrow. Afterwards she and Cindy took us to McAlister's Deli for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Proud of you Lindsay! Big sister Lauren and Rodney were moving Lauren into her appartment in Waco today. Hard to believe she is starting her second year at Baylor.

48th Wedding Anniversary

Forty-eight years ago Steve and I were married in our little country church in Southern Indiana. We left a few days later to begin our married life in Clovis, New Mexico where he was to be stationed at Cannon Air Force Base. It was a perfect little town for two country bumpkins to begin military life. Over 48 years, life in 5 states, 3 children and 7 grandchildren our lives have been full. Below is a picture of our first home at 1208 Walnut St, Clovis, NM. I loved this little adobe house with its slate roof. That was quite unique to an Indiana girl.

Samantha's Bagel Bites

Samantha went to the Grapevine Library today for a cooking class with Chef Scott. They made tasty bagel bites filled with cream cheese and Nutella. He ask if she was coming straight home from the library. When she said she was, he ask her if she would like the leftover dough to bring home. Of course she was happy to have it. And you know she had to come home and make her own version. She had enough dough for eight so she made four filled with cream cheese and lemon curd and four filled with cream cheese and apricot preserves. She and Dustin said they are very good! Chef Scott told her you have to yell at the dough when you hit it with the rolling pin to tamp it down! I love that she is using the rolling pin my mom used all my life. I know it would make mom happy that her great-granddaughter is using it. Here's Samantha in action:

PROGRESS!!!

Finally, after 18 days I got rid of my stitches! The hematoma is down and the ankle is looking good. Have lost the boot but still will do icing for a few days. I can live with that! Have to wear the compression sock for two weeks but that is okay. Thanks for all the prayers.
